DUSTY KID Live
You can’t restrict it in a genre… a sort of eclectic techno with influences from the 80’s restrained with acid house and spiced with minimal… in few words… a big beat soup!
Biography:
DUSTY KID [aka Paolo Alberto Lodde] was born in the first half of the decade of the 80’s. As a new “enfant prodige” he immediately showed his natural attitude for the variegated “music world”. At 10, after just one year of private lessons of the basic notions of piano and violin, he was admitted directly to the 6° year of the piano course in the conservatory of his native city. Following the accademic experience, his tasks moved gradually from the austere classical world to the electronic system, free from binds and traditional old-fashioned diktats. DUSTY KID started to manipulate synthesizers, samplers and sequencers, and he realized that one passion was growing and growing: the ardor for arranging and producing his own compositions. He released his first single “I Found A Reason” at 19 on the English label Lowered Recordings, and then he produced various singles and remixes for Mutiny UK, Robbie Rivera and Trinity Hi-Fi. The first official single under the aegis of the pseudonym DUSTY KID was “The Summer of Love”. But it’s during 2004 that Dusty Kid creates the project Duoteque with DJ Andrea Ferlin and releases numerous EPs on Boxer Recordings and the tracks were immediately included in the DJ sets of some of the most important names, like Richie Hawtin, Tiefschwarz, Ricardo Villalobos, Dominik Eulberg, Sven Väth and Magda. After the Duoteque experience Paolo decides to take his own way and to release his own productions as DUSTY KID. First release was the NEW ORDINAMENT EP on Motivo, followed by a second EP in 2007. 2007 is also the year of various releases as Dusty Kid on labels such as Kling Klong “Signal ’63 EP”, Systematic “Tsunamy”/”Milk”, Boxer Recordings “Anatome EP Vol.1” and Southern Fried Records “The Cat” / “The Kitten”, all hugely supported by DJS all over the world and still doing damage on the dancefloors and in the charts, as well as getting amazing reviews from press. But there’s still time to the end of the year…and while producing tracks for his debut album and the various gigs around the world, Paolo has in the mean time placed some more tracks due for release prior to the end of the year as well as delivered some amazing remixes for the like of Josh Gabriel and The Droyds [the latter for #1 dance Italian label Rebirth]…
Brisker & Magitman live One of the global dance scene's biggest surprises of the last 18 months comes in the form of the absolute dancefloor devastation brought about by the Israeli progressive duo, Brisker and Magitman. In every corner of the globe, this versatile pair have impacted the very direction of dance music, with earthshaking productions influenced by breaks, house, trance and progressive, and support from a virtual "who's who" of the DJ elite. Since their first release in 2006, Magitman Igal and Brisker Roman have had countless releases and remixes, appearing on such influential and stalwart labels as Baroque, AVA, Audiotherapy, SOG, Babylon, Method, Twisted Frequency and Dissident. Their music has been sought out by Sony for use in in Playstation games, and by Hernan Cattaneo for inclusion on his Renaissance Compilation, "Sequential". As their music has spread around the globe, so has the demand for their own dynamic and energetic DJ performances; the lads have already logged tens of thousands of miles in the air and played some of the world's best events and clubs in locations from Hong Kong to Brazil and everywhere in between and released their first mix-comp,entitled "Inception". With their momentum building to a fever pitch, 2008 looks set to be the year that the rest of the world discovers Brisker and Magitman, cementing their place among the best the world has to offer. Spring will see the release of their first full-length artist album, along with numerous EP, single releases and remixes. Even more intense touring is sure to follow, with a first North American jaunt already in the works, as well as return visits to East Asia, Europe and South America. If you hear a big sound booming from a pair of decks anywhere in the world, rest assured that the progressive duo from Israel was somewhere in the mix. And if you are fortunate enough, it will be Brisker and Magitman themselves behind those decks, giving new intensity to the term "Peak Hour". Stay tuned- Brisker and Magitman are on the move.
TOM DAZING & GOLS
Tom Dazing: Music was his first love. One day a young kid from the Old Industrial center of Belgium (Aalst) was destined to discover and create music. At the age of 18 he found his way to the record stores with a desire to become a musician. With a mother who's teaching violin, a grandfather born in Detroit and himself already playing the piano at the ago of 7, he was bound to end up in music someday. He realised that music is the driving force behind his intuition and he evolved towards the production side of things. Techno music still controls him up to this point, his productions in a way tell a tale in which the audience can relate to a part of themselves. When people hear good music it makes them homesick for something they never had and never will have. In 2006 he gave birth to his debut EP on Toys For Boys Records. It didn’t take long before it was discovered and launched into the playlists of several dj’s worldwide. A unique blend of pumping minimal techno with huge influences of oldskool chicago and acidhouse landed him a release on Marco Bailey’s MB Selektions in that same year. The releases kept following on Andre Crom’s Heimatmelodie imprint, Cologne based label Trapez and again MB Selektions where his track “Octopussy” moved the people on the dancefloor all over the globe. By performing live the energy levels on the dancefloor rise and when you feel that lifting desire you know it’s good. In his records he tries to blend in old school drum elements into a subtle environment of new slinky grooves and all-out raving madnesshave. That’s one of the best things about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Music is a performance and therefore it needs an audience. His timeshifting and elevating rhythms are highly appreciated by the crowd, promoters and top DJs`. He received much acclaimed support from people like Richie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Karotte, Marco Bailey, Monika Kruse, Gabriel Ananda, Seth Troxler, Len Faki, Dominik Eulberg, Skoozbot, Jens Zimmermann, Alexi Delano & Tim Xavier,... and played dj and livesets in venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), U60311 (Frankfurt), OPA (Paris), Fuse (Brussels), Vooruit (Ghent), Kiosk Club (Lille), Aquarium (London), Club Versteck (Dortmund), Lerry Brend (Kässel), Silo, Decadance. Kozzmozz, Ultra, Laundry Day, Forbidden Fruit, etc… He has recently picked up a bi-monthly residency in Frankfurt's U60311 and he's maintaining his local position on the banging Thriller parties at Decadance, Ghent. Expect future releases on Trapez, Toysforboys, series of remixes on various labels and solid tracks with a lot of love and pain because after silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music. Gols: ffice:smarttags" name="country-region">ffice:smarttags" name="City">ffice:smarttags" name="place">Gols has always considered music as his muse. Without it life would be a mistake. His musical road began taking shape during the late 90’s, where he played some unforgettable gigs at several banging clubs (Club 007, Factory, La Rocca, Forest Pump, Pulse Factory..) Soon his residency at Intenze and SeSSioN came along. He began creating his own cultivating style and doing so he made the crowd on the dance floor feel an overwhelming flow of happiness surrounding them. Were it not for music, we might in these days say that the beauty is dead because music is the poetry of the air. In the beginning of 2008 Gols thought it was time for a change, a walk on the wild side. He quit his residency at Factory Club and influenced by Happy House, Techhouse, House and Techno he committed himself to a different angle in style and he began producing with his good friend Tom Dazing. Tom Dazing & Gols was born. They soon gave birth to their very own music children, Pussy Bumpinsero (miconn) and No Hay Banda (Dreielf). After organizing some successful Thriller parties at Decadance Ghent it won’t take long before they set up their very own Thrill recordings. Places where Gols caused a lot of ear-damage: Forest Festival,Klankwerk, U60311 (Frankfurt), Summer Session, Waterfront, Make Up Club, Club Mosa, Cafe D'Anvers, Minimanimal, .....
SYNDROME & SYNTAX (residents, Progressive Reaction, Vibes in Progres)
Syndrome: ffice:smarttags" name="country-region">ffice:smarttags" name="place"> Music was his first love. Without it, nothing would be the same. He grew up in a fastly upcoming techno generation, frequenting lots of parties. He knew very early, he wanted to be the one behind the decks. At the age of 19 (year 2000), he bought his first pair of decks and played at goa-parties (youth sin!) all around in Belgium and Portugal. Very soon, his music evolved to the slower and deeper progressive sound. Nowadays, it’s still evolving, flirting with minimal, techno and electro, thus creating his own cultivating style, making the crowd go wild. Since 3 years, he has a residency at Progressive Reaction, and he recently gained a residency at Bright Night. Very recently, he hooked up with Syntax, together bringing a set impossible to stand still on. If you feel yourself going wild, there’s a great chance this dynamic duo is behind the decks!
ED & KIM
Ed & Kim are behind the decks for many years with their very eclectic taste. Their genre-crossing style gave them the opportunity to conquer many festivals, events and clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands. From I Love Techno, 10 Days Off and Pukkelpop till Fuse, Petrol and AB. Their own parties, the famous Breakdown-evenings in the Muziekodroom, gave them the status of halfgods in Hasselt. Just irrestible! Every friday and saturday evening van 10PM till 01AM, you can hear them in the program Switch at Studio Brussel.
